The Joint Leadership of the United States Congress (Congressional Award Board of Directors) gives the Horizon Award a special recognition. The Horizon Award is given to individuals in the private sector that have helped to improve opportunities for all Americans. It also recognizes those who have set extraordinary standards for the next generation of young people with their accomplishments in life. Tom was a fantastic colleague and friend. He was a fan of playing in such a skilled and experienced team, and would practice hard whenever his Magnum schedule permitted ..... He was very patient with all of us, and we loved the huge crowds which replaced the tiny number of players' spouses and friends during the national tournament matches. ".
